Missed the S meet but have sorted my probs!
Discussion
I sadly missed the S meet that I had been looking forward to for months now but I hope there will be a repeat next year. The pictures are great and I'm even more gutted after seeing them!
Still, I didn't write the entire day off to packing up the house in readiness for moving.
I spent an hour waxoyling the chassis and then had a general poke around and discovered that my fuel pressure regulator is making a weird noise and the most likely cause of my poor running when starting to accelerate.
I had also bought some Wynn's fuel injector cleaner so had a go at this, spraying it in the EFi directly with the wife keeping the car running by teasing the throttle to prevent it stalling, I reconnected the air ducting and removed the small hose from the pipercross aircleaner and sprayed some in the filter housing to clean the airflow meters too. There was a huge difference after, the car ticks over really smoothly now and on the test drive there was so much more go and throttle response (see my next thread "TVR eats Alfa"). What a difference this stuff made. My advice is not to waste your time with fuel additive type injector cleaners, use the Wynn's injector cleaner spray. Superb!
So, a new fuel pressure regulator (uprated of course) should see me running to full potential.
