My heater always went slow on both settings - I thought that was normal!
While I had the console out recently I gave all the switches a dust and contact clean up. Surprised to find I then actually had a two speed fan with a fast speed. The contacts for the second speed were quite corroded. Fortunately the standard switches are quite chunky and easy to strip and clean.
Might not be your problem but worth trying before you have the dash out -

I took the switch apart over the weekend and found that the prong that does the fast setting was broken / melted. I've swaped them over temporarily to get the fast setting working for now but need to source a new switch. Are they TR7 does anybody know?
Cheers
Believe they are TR7 but Rimmers don't list a fan switch for the TR7. Cheers
