Austec are fitting sports pipes on Wednesday/Thursday next week. I think they are ACT pipes, not 100% sure though.

What I didnt discuss with them was whether or not a new exhaust comes with cats..??? My 1991 V8S is pre-cat with a standard exhaust, and I obviously dont want cats on the car! Does a new exhaust come with cats? Sorry for being so clueless, im learning every day still.

It occured to me today that cats and exhausts are connected, and Im worried that with a new system I'll end up having a quieter car with cats. Rob

No V8S exhaust has the cats on them they are fitted to the "Y" piece.

I guess it depends how much of the system is being replaced though? Would be a good idea to check, at least.

I was assuming "sports pipes" would only be the exhaust

But as your driving the car there surly you wouldn't let them fit a catted "Y" piece

They will replace like with like. Why fit a more expensive, power "sapping" system when its not required by the law ?

Saw it in the ramps on Friday, mine is underneath so I hope it doesn't leak any oil - looks nice though.

Hey Pies, sorry I missed you today at Dream Machines, though we passed on your way down. That was some convoy you were in, though you didn't wave you miserable I expected no response from the the drivers of the more modern machinery, though not from the driver of such a fine machine as an "S" Guess you were concentrating on not running into the slower Tivs in front of you. Did the guy from Sprint see you? He was looking for some V8S's to photograph, he photographed mine and I suggested he hang around to see yours.

Yes it was a bit tight down there. I was a bit concerned about getting boxed in which was why I got out while I still could, nice people there though. I will try to get to one of the local meets. See you then.
