Masonry Paint instead of Garage Floor Paint?

Has any one used masonry paint on their garage floor? I’ve got 10lts spare so if it will stand the abrasion I’ll use that instead of forking out for “special paint”. Any ideas?

Not sure it would last long. Why not use it on the walls...if they need doing!

Carpet! Of course! Why didn't I think of that in the first place? So do I coordinate with the car or go for a contrast?

I'd steer clear of beige - it'll show the marks terribly ;-)

Go for black and white carpet tiles. It will feel like you are at the finishing line at Spa again.

Fitted carpet here too but used roofing felt as an underlay. What was a very damp garage is now bone dry. I have heard of warm tyres lifting the paint off floors.

I suggest that whatever you go for, make sure it isn't waterproof. You'll have water soaking up gradually through the concrete, and it needs to be able to evaporate out when it reaches the surface. (I'm assuming you don't have a damp proof membrane under the whole slab.)

I'm going to go for cheap carpet tiles I think. In light grey if I can get them. I've just put the final coat of white paint on the walls so I'm thinking a light grey floor would work well. I'll be putting in a bench and shelves at the weekend and setting out new ring mains for the power and lights next week. Any one got some fluorescent lights they don't want?

Masonry paint will last about 10 minutes. Garage floor paint is better, but won't wear well with medium use.

I used dynotile on mine - more expensive but great to work on and more cost effective when exdisplay!
