Good Quality Roof Cover

Gents,

I don't have a useable garage to store the S in over the winter so i am in the market for a good (bullet proof ;-)) hood cover or full car cover. I have a thin cheaper version at the moment which does proud in keeping the rain off and allowing it to breathe but as we can get some harsher weather i want to get a more robust one.. Ive seen the Leven ones but thought best place to find a good one is via you all... any suggestions????

Ps Also a thicker one might be "Andrew the B*****d" proof... the cat likes to try his claws out on the 'flapping' current one...

I have a Leven 'half cover' or 'cockpit cover', very heavy wind won't move it, sort of leatherette material with straps attached.

The car lives in a garage anway but I also have one for the wedge which is sometimes outside.

Thanks... i am pretty sure the Leven one was the one i had for my Chimaera... that's the type i am after... but at the moment the price there looking for it is out of my league....

I got a fitted cover from Specialised Covers a couple of years ago though it wasn’t cheap - £250ish I think - but it has proved to be very good and withstood some very very harsh conditions, staying put in gale force winds and keeps the car, particularly the interior, nice and dry.

A large local company who make a variety of specialised covers has offered to make one for my S, I am just waiting until the 'new' MX5 mirrors are fitted before letting them have the car. They are going to make a bespoke one for me which covers all the hood and screen and to just below the door glass...i.e. the main leak areas! My car stays out in all weathers and I have found that the full cover I have does chaff the paint in windy weather. I will report back and also see if they want a limited order as I aware other people have looked for a cover for the cabin area only.

Looks great... but i think the cat and his local mates might well have a field day on it!!!!
