Hey Guys
I am getting mixed answers on what oil to put in my S3,I think it has got 5/40 synthetic oil in it at the moment and the oil pressure is 50lbs max.
I have been told that 15/50 semi synthetic is more viscous and will give more pressure, is that correct?

Doesn't a lower viscosity give a higher oil pressure?

I use Mobil 1 in mine but a second mortgage is required!

Hi Dave, yes you're right about the Magnatec. When it first came out I used it in my high mileage BMW 5 series (which I had at the time) and the engine sounded so different after, very quiet. I wouldn't have thought the difference was possible, I rate it very highly and I will put this in the S at the next oil change, it's much cheaper than Mobil 1 too.

Our new Freelander goes to the main dealer for servicing and I noticed that they use the magnatec there too.

I used Magnatec in mine at the last oil change. Now I've seen the high mileage Magnatec and was wondering if that would be a better thing to use in future. My engine is at 95,000.

Anyone know what the difference between standard Magnatec and the high mileage stuff?
