Well, I am very much under Tony's wing at the moment. And he treated me to a full briefing session and a drive on Saturday which was fantastic - while Mrs. Tony taught my daughter to play Mahjong which she's been playing ever since.

So far we have made some decisions. Obviously that an S Series is the right car for me. That I'd like an S3 really. And if possible with the fog lamps too. I think that I need to find one that has had the major costly work like chassis and some suspension work completed. Minor stuff is less of a worry, but I'd like to find one that is in as good a condition as possible. Budget, really I want to spend max about £4,500. And despite the fave colour thread and lots of nice photos, I'm pretty open about really. Ideally a blue or green. Possibly red. Not sure about silver or black. Yellow is a no no!

Tony has been a mine of information and is also a calming influence on me - so that we wait as patiently as possible for the right car to appear. And really I'd like to affect a purchase during the winter so I'm ready for some meets and hopefully one of the S Club trips as well.

And hopefully we'll get to meet up too !

I wish I had your will power, I jumped at the first one I saw.
Now looking at whats about, the interior and in particular the dash, of the S3 is IMHO, better than the S2 or S1,I should have waited for a Tan interiored, green one rather than the brown interior that I have got. The fog lights do improve the looks at the front although I like the intake scoop on the bonnet on the earlier S. These are all cosmetic I know, but I have no comparison for the driving handling characteristics as I only know my own.
Should have taken advice and driven a few first, but it is a heart over head case, for me.

Niiige, if you'd like to look at another colour combo then I'm not too far away in Gloucester, mines a grey metallic with a grey interior (looks nicer than it sounds) although it's an S1 rather than an S3. I'm not suggesting I'd sell it, just giving you the option to look at another combination of colour and configuration..

It's a very personal thing, I prefer the looks of the S1 dash to later models and much prefer the knobs to the later switches, but then again i also prefer the cleaner front end without the spotlights too which seems to put me in the minority LOL.

Gimme a shout if you want to look at another one..
