First service and MOT
Discussion
Well, the MOT passed after sorting minor issues with fog light switch...
The bad news is that there is corrosion on the radiator. I thought it may have just been excess in the header tank causing the splat on my drive and on the garage floor.
The garage are sorting out a new core for the radiator, any ideas how much this should cost? Including labour?

Depending on where you are Guildford Radiators have a good reputation and should be able to turn it around relatively quickly for you.

recoring a radiator costs about £130 to £160.
Takes about 30 mins to remove, slightly longer to replace.
So by the time the garage have "marked up" the recore and and hour and half at around £50 per hour + vat it's looking like £300+ Takes about 30 mins to remove, slightly longer to replace.

If cars got anti-freeze I doubt they'll catch and re-use it so add that on too!
Buy a spanner and a screwdriver and get stuck in

I think in the summer I will get myself into some mechanics! Learn how to do some of this stuff myself! Could be an expensive game, otherwise...
