Nice dash on the S4C, looks different IIRC to the S3?

Hmmm... I could tell Matt was not really "getting into" S ownership at PistonFest, he idly mentioned a car swap then.

Split screen Type 2 Matt ??

Cheers

If I had a large mansion with many garages then I'd buy it back

But I haven't

AFAIK the heating controls are the only difference as some (most?) S3s have the black plastic panel for the heater controls rather than the sliders built straight into the dash.

Dudes,

My S3C has the sliding heater controls & they suck (they look shite & you need both hands to move them!)

Anyone know if anything can be done to convert/improve them?

Ditto!

Matt, I can imagine that your costs much be huge!! A year later and I'm still having a problems with the running costs.

I am considering another Mini project if I move back home to Surrey.

Hi Guys,

Had this same problem myself on my "S" and now on Emma's "S".

First check that the sticking is not down to the heater valve (under the bonnet, back edge, passenger side) being siezed. If it isn't siezed then it's just the sliders themselves(most likely!!).

Go and buy a can of spray liquid silicon and very carefully (you don't want this stuff all over the car!) apply to the slider tracks. Then try to move the sliders up and down their tracks to get the silicon between the nob (down Podie!!!!!!!) and the track. You'll be amazed at the results.

Yeah, I whipped the silicon spray out, and now my nobs slide with ease...
