Can you tell me what front and rear calipers they fitted as standard to V8s 1991 and can anyone recommend who I should get to recon them? Thanks

Too easy if I do all the work for you smile

If the fronts are the diddy 240mm same as V6 engined cars any "mid range" Sierra should do, eg 2 litre petrol or 1.8 diesel.

Rears are any of the performance Sierra's, XR4i should do, some Cozzies (4x4?) had thicker vented disc's.

Take a look around the Brakes Int online shop, check your disc dimensions against those given for various Sierras until you find a match then order calipers for same model.

I wasn’t impressed with the standard BigRed finish (electroplated I think – they started to rust in the bag in storage!). I’ve no experience of their higher quality finish though so it might be better. I painted mine with Hammerite and they still look good three years on.

Look at this - Chim same front brakes as S

Note to go to this size disc you need to drill the uprights (shown in the thread) and fit spacers both of which I wasn't keen on doing. If you go to 260mm discs the new calipers (with carriers - essential) just bolt straight on.

i settled on XR4 RWD front calipers, shot blast, new pistons and seals etc myself.

In hindsight, big red is probably as cheap and easier.

Couldnt resist the temptation to add 'TVR'
