Newbie question
Discussion
Hi I bought my S3 back in August last year and it has been had been relatively trouble free. Just a few questions to help me on my way. The first is a breakdown today. Trevor wouldn't start after a five minute drive where all was ok, I stopped to get petrol where it was admittedly low(I know). On trying to start it again,I noted that I couldn't hear the fuel pump noise nor did the gauges rise as they normally do which led me to think that it was a fuse. Here comes the daft question, where is the fusebox? Electric windows etc worked but some things like the electric boot release didn't which leads me to think fuse/s.
Second question- Where could I buy a new bonnet 'pin'?The one that you push down at the top of the bonnet as it pops up.
Third and final one: Where could I buy a new cap for the clutch fluid reservoir?
Many thanks for anticipated replies. As you may well guess I'm not mechanically minded but always hankered after the S after hearing and seeing one back in the 80's.
Regards V6 Coupe

The fuel pump, gauges and boot release etc only work when the ignition is "on". The electric windows, headlights etc are live all the time. The symptoms you describe point more to a fault at the ignition switch, than a particular circuit fuse.
On these cars, the ignition switch is connected to the loom at a yellow connector underneath the steering column, about 3 inches from the ignition switch itself. They are a notorious weak spot, because they aren't up to the job and the "ignition" connector burns out, giving exactly the symptoms you describe.
I would start there - check it and if necessary put in a beefier connector (which is what I did) or solder the wires together (as others have done, although IMO that might be a pain in the bum if you ever need to take the steering column out).

I agree with Mr Git, sounds very much like the infamous "yellow connector"
Clutch fluid cap in metal or plastic
Bonnet pin is possibly old type Mini or early Ford (anglia, Cortina etc.)
There is another thread running about bonnets popping open, chap on there, Joe (v8s4me), is looking into geting some made, but do you also need the spring?
P.S. you'll make no friends on a TVR Forum with a "Porker" on your profile picture
