Hi all,

Anyone fitted stainless kick plates from Leven to an S2?

Trial fitted mine at the weekend but could not find a long enough flat area. Even sliding them under the door it seemed the plates were too long with the back end bowed up.

I have spoken to the very helpful Simon at Leven who said they should fit, but just thought I would see what you guys have done.

Christian.

Fitted them to mine back in 97 with no problems at all and they still look great.
Not much help i know, i did have to slide them forward under the door a bit but other than that a 15min job.

Not bought these myself but are they the same part used for all S models?

Don't forget the doors were lengthened for the later models and the kick plates may be made for the longer doors.

Had some kick plates given to me when I brought my S. It's an S1 1989 - they don't fit either. The door shape is too rounded, or the plates are to long. They probably are for later S2 and onwards.

Simon at Leven suggested I may need to trim some off the plate to fit around the door.

I will check over the weekend if this will be needed and let you know. He did say all TVR's are different, it's just my luck I've got the 1 with the funny shaped doors!

Stu,

You're only mentioning the floral hood covers cos you want some!

I'll bring the brake disc covers - now in floral pattern, just for you!

How did you get on then Christian?
Christmas is coming and a set of Leven kick plates sounds the sort of thing I would like in my stocking.
Mine is 1989 S2.But I would be dissapointed if they were not a good fit. Let us know if you reccomend?
Cheers, Tim.

Hi Tim,

My plates came from Fernhurst (a while ago before my ownership).

They should fit yours too as we have the same body (car that is, not siamese twins.....)

Hi Tim,

Sorry for the delay!

Looks like I have to cut a small piece out of the corner to make them fit. Will look great when fitted.

(Is this the Kentish S2 or the S series forum - only joking.)

When I spoke to Simon at Leven thought they were the only people making kick plate for our cars.

Cheers,

Christian.

It's the KentishS2 forum of course, you can always rely on me to say something completely inappropriate or have an opinion on something!

Hi Tim,

Fernhurst are at:- www.fernhurst-tvr.co.uk

Lee has a website but it is currently under construction and his e-mail link doesn't appear to work as most messages bounce back and/or no reply to e-mails.

I'd suggest a new post on the S forum or in general gassing titled "FAO LeeBee" or something similar?? And ask if he'll get in touch with you.

Kevin,

Where in Kent are you?

My parents live in New Romney with a big bad Griff. I will be going down in a couple of weeks and may take the S.

Hi Tim and Stephenson,

Sorry didn't see this until now.

I'm near Canterbury area (as is Pies) and I haven't progressed either the local S meet or the roof

Been very busy moving house and now fixing the place up where the previous owners decided to nick loads of fixtures and fittings to the tune of £8.5k!

Hence the S has been slow to progress. I'm not following up on the hood for now as it is at the end of the list of things that I need to do. Basically, I need a new fuel pressure regulator, a replacement exhaust which I'm looking into having custom built to negate my many introductions to speed humps and a new fuel tank, a new rear window and the targa top needs recovering (or complete new hood) and a refurb of the seats and some new shocks. Then I'm having a full respray and that should see me happy with the car.

After this I will be looking into fitting a nitrous oxide kit and upgrading the headlights with an HID kit.

So far, I've managed to get a nice new set of magnecor leads on the car and my lovely jubbly new number!
