She's back - after 110 days at Austec !!
Discussion
W'hey
The old girl finally got parole from the Austec home for tired Tivs' - she's been resident for 110 days
.
I was supposed to pick her up at the open day on Sunday, but a final niggle involving the oil pump drive gear
delayed release until today. For those of you that attended the open day. she was the BRG V8 on the ramp, so you probably got a nice look at her nether regions
, Thanks Pies for the heads up on the dirt in the outriggers
.
I didn't hang about 'cos I was right
and had just got off a 12 hour flight from Los Angeles.
The saga started with cam wear diagnosis at a service in late May, followed by a catastrophe (sp?) when ragg'd by the MOT centre
Austec "used to use" on 3rd June
.
So now one full engine re-build later, and some added extras during residency at Austec - ACT stainless manifolds, new clutch, new rear discs and shoes etc..... I've got to run her in for 1,000
miles. Still now she sounds 'kin gorgeous
Paul, Mike and the boys have done a great job though it did seemingly take forever
. Final flourish is she's booked in for a full respray week after next - pictures to follow of course.
So I am back as a full TVR driving member and can resign from the Honda Jazz
forum I have been attending for the past four months.
Happy

I would have gone nuts being tiv less for that long
Thankfully, I work my arse off and am away for 3 weeks out of four and nearly every weekend in the summer so it wasn't too painful though I did really miss the old girl
It was like putting an old pair of gloves on when I got in her to drive tonight though.

Nice to see you have her back now Stu, sounds like you have spent this years S budget then!
I was working in North America and Switzerland for nearly 3 months last year and the first thing I did after getting home (and greeting my wife of course) was go out for a run in the S. Sadly, I missed all of the summer!

You should have seen the activity at Austec the morning of the open day when they discovered your car had the oil drive problem
, Paul was absolutely gutted, preparations for the day were halted while 6 men stood under your car trying to work out how it could be fixed, sadly it couldn't, i can certainly vouch for there commitment to there customers.
Glad you now have it back .
