Hi All
Just got back from the workshop, I sat in the car thinking I had all the little jobs done (except for some rive nuts when I take the engine and box out), I sat there with a grin and then I realised something missing, sat there looking and no hand brake, Can anybody post a picture of the bracket that's welded to the chassis, I have the hand brake and all the linkage but must have thrown the mount out with the scrap. Glad its not powder coated now.

You can just see it in this picture - right in front of the front Propshaft UJ

not the best I'm afraid but the bracket in the chassis is just the hole to the right of the picture on the upper chassis member, the handbrake body bolts through this with some spacer pieces and a clamp and pinch bolt on the inner edge keeping the cable in place. The handbrake cable and U bracket to ensure even pressure is also visible but disconnected.

Thanks chaps, Norman you don't see many of those chassis plants, how long did it take to root.

Hi All (again).
Thanks again for the help, I was looking for a new sleeve on ebay, any body know what car the leaver came off or a link to one that fits.

I had a look round on ebay and the only thing I could see thats anything like it would be a classic mini handbrake with some modification, but to be honest I don't think thats the source.

Chassis's don't just grow on trees, there's floor creeper variety too ;-)

Hi Mike
Electric you say, no good for hand brake turns. BMW do some nice leather sleeves but might not fit the leaver
