handbrake lever removal
Discussion
Hi everyone, I need a little advice from the expert body lifters. i`ve got all the bolts out, exhaust off etc, I`ve disconnected the handbrake cable at the lever end. Does the lever need to be removed ? The body is loose and I can raise only the rear left, the rear right seems to catch, any thoughts please as I`m tearing my remaining hair out
thanks.

Yes, the lever needs to be removed - it goes through the body and through a sleeve welded to the chassis, and then cable is connected to the other end using a pinch bolt.
Undo pinch bolt through gear lever hole, remove the 10mm long bolt at the base of the ever (and don't lose the long spacer) and the lever should pull out of the tunnel, into the car.

Wow, that was a quick reply, thanks. I read your notes as a guideline and had a blonde moment at the handbrake bit, many thanks tvrgit Undo pinch bolt through gear lever hole, remove the 10mm long bolt at the base of the ever (and don't lose the long spacer) and the lever should pull out of the tunnel, into the car.
