Been in and out all afternoon (bloody tax costs £165 for the year
) and the car was properly warmed up when I decided to give it some welly.
Was doing 40 in second (foot to the mat) and woooah!!

With a bit of experience, a few track and airfield days as well a Ride Drive course, given an empty road you try to get the back-end out and have a huge grin when you do

When my TP and fuel pump were playing up the car used to die and then suddenly pick up, the first time it did this little trick I was negotiating a roundabout and was therefore on right lock a fair bit and suddenly it died, so foot down and the engine burst into life again and I ended up going sideways fashion around the roundabout in the rain!
A bit scary but good fun....

Happy when its my (tiny) brain and right foot in control but when its the TVR mechanicals (or something on the road) I err towards pant soiling!Just driving to work this morning, went to overtake a MINI Cooper Cabriolet on the dual carriage way. Pulled out, accelerated up to 65mph, round the outside of a bend, not a massive bend, moderate. There goes the back!! Fed the opposite lock back on without too much trouble. Damn Pirelli P6000s!! Never happened with my S02 PPs.

They'll be fun in the winter Chris. Probably another good reason to get a tin top for winter use.
Unfortunately my current account balance has scuppered plans for a tin top, so it means I'll just have to cut down on driving the S up and down the country. Not really a problem as all holidays have been curtailed until the game is finished, which is some time next year.
Mainly it's the insurance that will really do me in for the car. For a £500 106, I'm looking at £380 TPFT, and close on £600 for FC.
Rob, glad to hear you managed to keep the car on the road. It's always a shock when it first happens. Get a ride Drive course under your belt. Should help you tame that V8.

Just posted you details of a cheap and late Seat Ibiza that somebody here at work is selling, sounds a good buy but needs new tyres and cosmetics, should be reasonable to insure and run too.

Ive had the back end sliding around (slipping more like, only feels like an inch or two back and forth, left and right) whist rocketing forwards on a dry straights...
This time, again on a straight, it was wet... but the back end must have slid out more than two feet.
I (gently) came off the gas and corrected steering and feeling massively embarassed (loads of cars around) drove home slow, tailpipes between legs etc
It was fun, though
I do have the urge to find the limits, but its no where near as strong as the urge not to get close to them, and certainly not on corners. The nearest track I have access to it 3 hours away, dont have time/never driven that far before, but Im going to book a ride drive course when funds allow, praps later this year
Maybe a few of us S owners could book a day together?

It was a very different day to the standard one-on-one Ride Drive I've done but very entertaining and a safe chance to break the limits of adhesion.
Was great fun doing a cone slalom trying to hang the back-end out as much as possible
