Well, I posted the ad on PH... ten minutes later the phone rang (ruining Indiana Jones BTW ) and a man wanted to see the car...

Arranged to meet him at David Batty's place (car was in for MOT)... test drove it... did a deal to pick the car up the following week... and then I headed home.

Had barely got into third gear from DB's place.. and a truck flips up a half brick, smashing the screen...

So... a month later the new screen is put in (stunning job by Autoglass Chelmsford) and Matt comes to collect the car this morning.

Paperwork sorted, keys in hand... Matt drives away in my baby (hadn't realised how good it sounded!)...

If he has half as much fun with the car as I did, then he'll have a great time... hopefully he'll get himself sorted with a login and join the funny farm that is the S series forum.

In the meantime, I'm off to cry...

The big question then - Any idea how long till you'll be ready to get another TVR, or cant you say just yet?

I'll be in your neighbourhood Sunday 10th, gimme a shout if you want to meet up for a beer. Will be with girlfriend & cousain who'll happily tolerate endless TVR talk (to help you through the emotional healing phase)

You'll know its me when you see the "UK Bob" bracelet my girlfriend got me for my birthday

We'll have to follow his posts - see if they stray into Chim, Griff or Cerbie land.

Why do people assume you're going for a newer car..?

... and can't get rid of me that easily GreenV8S!

If I could, I'd have a T350T or a Tuscan, perhaps a Cerbera for the extra seats.

But I'd still keep the S as they are pretty much unique and brilliant fun.

its an arse isnt it, waving goodbye and hearing that exhaust. I "did the deed" at a hotel I was staying at in London. i had to rush inside quickly before the new owner started the car up.

I must admit I hadn't realised quite how loud my car was…

Watch Matt drive it away down the road.. And it popped and banged away… and to hear if going down the road was a touch emotional to say the least. He took the longer way back to the A12, and I took a cut through and stood on a bridge to watch it go by.. .. That's one good sounding S..

Will admit to having a cry - no shame in that IMHO… that car helped me through a tough period in my life and I'll dearly miss the old girl, but at least I know that the new owner will look after it just as well.

You'll have to get saving, the Tamora is a lovely car and a full drop top unlike some of the TVR range now. There was one local to me (before I moved) and I was surprised at how small it looked on the road. Nicely proportioned tho.

Will you look at us humble S drivers and still give us a wave or flash of the headlights tho?
