Headscratching over gear knob V8S - help!!
Discussion
I have been searching everywhere for a brushed ally plain top ball shapped gear knob replacement from my original ford-esque 80`s original. its a 1992 V8s 5 speed with reverse on the top left - with a small lift of the stick to engage reverse.. tried a club members griff knob but the thred / stick diameter on mine was way to big... any ideas?
Appologies if this has been discussed previously!

THe V8S thread is M8 x 1.25 (at least on mine). I recently purchased a gear knob out of the Sprint magazine that was a M10 x 1.5 but you could get an adaptor (which I did) but it was a bit pricey at £7 for a bit of metal tube with an internal and external thread. if you know anyone who is handy with a lathe they could make an adaptor up easily out of a piece of ally.

From memory that's same shift pattern as the V6.
Take a look at this thread. Very helpful chap that posts as LeeT350c machined up a batch of alloy gear knobs.
Not sure if he did thread for a V8S but I'd suggest you drop him a PM.
I bought one of these (V6) - it's a top quality item and I've become friends with Lee as a result - a very nice bloke.Take a look at this thread. Very helpful chap that posts as LeeT350c machined up a batch of alloy gear knobs.

Cheers... thanks for all the help. Fingers crossed I can ditch the ford one soon!!
Did you get anywhere with this? I'm also looking for a replacement for the ebay item I presently have. Looks like I have an M8 thread, and have bought the Racetech knob which I believe is M10, but now I'm confused as to the reducer I need. Ebay have some, but might as well be chinese to me. Anyone have a link?Edited by Deadfast on Sunday 21st July 12:22
