Which thermostat for S2 ?

I need to change the thermostat on my S2 as it looks to be stuck open and takes ages to warm up, but after being into two local motor factors today I am unable to find the correct part with gasket. The gaskets they offered were oval 2 hole parts (apparently correct for Granada 2.9 v6), but the thermostat housing on the front of my engine has 3 bolts.

Anyone know of the correct part for the thermostat and gasket? What temp. thermostat should be fitted as standard?

There should be an O ring, not a gasket.

Hi.Could you let me know how you get on ? I have a small drip of coolant from my thermostat housing (2.9).So thought i'd change the thermostat and gasket/o rings while i'm in there.Many Thanks.

Hi Peter, if yours is the 2.9, the thermostat may not be the problem.

Rob ( GriffinR on here ) had identified a flaw in the original TVR plumbing layout which effectively bypassed the thermostat, causing an over-long warm-up period. Rob's solution alters the positions/routing of the hoses & overcomes this flaw, allowing much more efficient operation of the cooling system.

Perhaps someone more capable than I could do a link to the relevant thread.
