Hi Kitchski,
there has been some discussion on this topic over the last few years. I was interested in getting one made for my V8S, until the car became consigned to the garage due to economic pressures. If I remember correctly the chassis for both the Chimaera and Griffith (is it the same chassis?) have roll-bar mounting points built into the chassis, whereas the S doesn't. Tower View made one to fit the S, and there was mention of a company near Birdlip/Gloucester who were willing look into making one. If an economic solution could be found I'm sure there would be a ready market. I don't know, but would imagine, that the V8S chassis varies sufficiently to the V6S to need a different design.

Hi All
I Made mine out of TIG welded 38mm 4130 chromoly tubing, I hade the main hoops bent professionally, cost wise about £120 / £150 if you count gas and filler rods. I used the old seat belt mounts as I will be using Sparco harnesses, all the mounts are 10 mm steel plate tapped M10. You must plate the chassis if you are wanting it to be used as a safety bar
The red is where it mounts to the chassis with HT Cap heads

I'm still keen to source a roll bar for my S3C - I bought a Safety Devices 'bar off eBay last year, it had come off an S1 and I assumed that it would fit. The front hoop sat on the seat belt mounting areas but I guess they are higher on an S1 (something to do with the shorter doors ? ) so it wouldn't fit under the hood and the rear stays sat too high - shame about the 400 mile round journey to collect it....there has been some discussion on this topic over the last few years. Surely there must be an opportunity for a bulk order/purchase - probably about 5 times the cost of a pair of indicator lenses but what price your head/neck ??.
Ive had cages for other cars made by Protection and Performance ooop north, and they came out at circa £375-£400 'half cage' (backstays, diagonal and main hoop) all powdercoated and with fixings, and circa £800 inc vat for a full 6 point cage with door bars to MSA regs.
we took up a car and left with them for a couple of weeks, they use some trick measuring equip that sat in the car and CAD'd the interior, then dropped that into CAD and designed the cage so it hugged the pillars etc. First one was fitted by them FOC (normally couple of hundred quid) so as to ensure its all A-OK, then subsequent replicas made. Loads of colour choices in powder coating too.
In an ideal world though, you would need to know the differences in S1,2, 3 & V8S logged to see if its only a couple of areas that differ, keeping the majority of the 'cut list' the same and hence the cost down.
other thing is Dan Evans the MD and his crew are decent, down to earth motorsport petrolheads. Car parks usually got road and racecars, 4x4s and trucks (8wheel drive Dakar racers when I last went!) they are working on
