chassis outrigger repairs
Discussion
Hi guys, brought my first tvr 6 months ago without doing my research, plenty of work needed!!. The repair work is coming on but could do with some advise regarding my chassis outrigger repair work required. Does anyone know a good local company/garage that I can use to carry out some minor work (I live in Eastwood, just on the Derbyshire / Nottinghamshire border) , the rust doesn't look too bad, just a few sections behind the front wheels that needs work and could be repaired with a partial body lift, maybe?.
Are there any local meets in my area?, could do with seeing some S series in good condition so that I can see what's missing of mine!.
Thanks in advance for your help

Hi there, although my S now resides in Spain, the bloke i bought it off had it looked after by RT Racing in Sheffield. The chassis on my car is solid regulary painted and waxoiled, new shock's and brakes etc; I'm sure if you pop in to RT Racing, Richard will advice you on any work needed.
Thanks for the offer Chris, unfortunately i'm away for the next few days - let me know the next time you are in the area and we'll try to meet up. Thanks again John

John I will be staying over at the better half's tomorrow night in Kimberley if you want to pop over for a cuppa and tyre kick. Happy to give my opinion on chassis.

Hi, it's been slow progress, keep taking things off but not much going back on - keep finding problems! Seats out due to water in foot well, fiberglass floor repaired.
Jobs left to do :-
1) both headlights need refitting (some came with the car but don't seem to fit)
2) indicators, as above!
3) both doors dropped
4) passenger windscreen wiper comes out of the body at the wrong angle!!
5) rubber around the side windows missing
6) chassis rust issues
7) needs rewire
8) and I haven't even started on the engine yet!
May consider lifting the body myself to keep costs down.

When you say minor work ?? I'm afraid as soon as you lift the body chances are it will be worse than you expect, have you considered lifting the body yourself ? What have you done so far ?
