Having read that Quitequietcerb is about to be reunited with his old S and use it as a daily driver, I'm interested to know how many others also daily drive their S?

If I were better at formatting my post, I'd have listed this as a survey (perhaps somebody else can help witht that?).

Unfortunately not. 90 miles a day of the m25 isn't really the s' natural habitat. I also regularly come and go at really antisocial hours due to shift work when most normalpeiple are fast asleep in bed. Think my neighbour's patience would wear out pretty quickly too.

Would love to use it daily, but unfortunately I don't think it would work long term. Try.to.take it.in.whenever the weather is suitable or my other car is off the road.

Used daily but still less than 5000 a year. Got 2 sets of wheels and run winter tyres November to March. Gets a regular wash and wax, and plenty of waxoil.

Not every day but as its MOT'd for the year and insured & Taxed for the year I use it all year round and for the past couple of years I have used it more during the winter months than the summer.

Was the daily drive from 89 to 07. Now its used probably 4 days a week.

300,000 + Km. Running really good since changing distributor, rotor, HT leads and plugs last month.

Mine is taxed and insured for the year and gets used whenever I can, if I have time to move stuff out the way and dig it out of the garage, I am usually a little late out of bed in the mornings, so while its getting tidied up and sprayed bit by bit, poor excuse but the everyday car is just outside the front door and easy to jump in and drive away.

I got my first S (which was my everyday car) in 1997 and it covered approx 50,000 miles in the 4.5 years I had it. Fuel was a lot cheaper then...

mine is used every month of the year..........

I even took it roof down for 2 hours to the chippy on the Suffolk Coast in January at about 0-2 degrees C. To say I was freekin frozen when I got there really doesn't do it. I couldn't speak properly for about half an hour 1

Yep, though not at the moment as it's run out of tax, mot and clutch. Engine and gearbox went back in yesterday though so it should all be back in one bit very soon smile

Back in March at a Breakfast club meeting I took the other half, and as it was dry it was a roof down job, when we stopped for fuel a chap wandered over to look and mentioned it was minus 1, and were we not a bit cold?
My OH through chattering teeth agreed it was chilly. smile

Hi all

Owned the S3 for 2.5 yrs now, sorted initial idle issues and been using the car daily when its not raining and dry stored when it does rain.

What a beautiful day it is today, you only need one guess what I'm doing today, enjoying the sun with my car, it can't get any better.....

I use mine pretty much every day 2 years no probs but had to do steering rack and rad this year so alternate means of getting to work is a must IMHO luckily I can walk (at a push)

Not daily, but taxed and insured all year round, over 2000 miles in year 1 of ownership.

Try to avoid salty roads for obvious reasons but not afraid to get it wet!

I tend not to drive it on long motorway runs as its noisy, or when I have to park somewhere bad.
