Just spotted that under the new MOT rules a missing cat "where originally fitted" is now a fail.

This seems to be a change to the previous rules where pre-'92 cars (IIRC) didn't need to have a cat.

Just wondering if this is going to be an issue for my S3C.

Anyone else with an S3C (or similar) had an MOT since the new rules (20 Mar '13)?

Thanks Chris.

I normally use Wilford Lane Garage for MOT's. Sensible chaps but obviously they have rules to work to and I don't expect them to ignore them.

Of course, ringing someone I don't use for MOT's might be sound advice wink

Ta,
Gary

p.s. I suggest all S3C owners start telling people the C stands for Convertible... smile

Mine passed in May without any question about the cat or lack of it

Thanks smile - just checked the log book and there's no mention of a cat.

Hopefully as long as MOT stations don't ask about the de-cat pipes it won't be an issue. Fingers crossed.

Mine too - emissions were low, no mention of the cat. Pass.
