A romantic wedding anniversary weekend away with the wife...

Towed back 200 miles (Well done RAC - my AA cover only allowed them to tow it to a local closed garage). Now deposited outside Tower View who will be surprised to see it there tomorrow morning - assuming it is still there.

Oh, blown radiator incase you wanted to know the problem - could have happened to any car - but still got all the usual TVR comments.

Well yes, both AA and RAC might seem a little excessive, but it goes like this...

I'm an AA member but only their basic service. When I went to France earlier in the year they wanted around £80 to add International cover for 1 week. My Dad's got RAC cover via an old Triumph club deal that covers three cars - whatever their age - including international cover so I was added on to that.

So, I called the AA out who diagnosed the problem but could only offer to tow me to the local garage which would be closed. This would have left me totally stuffed because I was 200 miles from home...

So, I then remember the RAC cover which is far more comprehensive and who turn up within 15 minutes while the AA were still there.

They went off for a coffee together I think

Oh dear! What is the radiator going to set you back?

Edited to add: too late to be any good, but depending how bad the leak was it is possible to travel quite a long way by taking the pressure cap off to relieve the pressure, and topping it up frequently. But I guess that might not have gone down too well under the circumstances!

Yes, much better now than in Spain

Cost should be around £200 plus fitting and VAT.

Persuading the wife that it could have happened to any car will cost a whole lot more.

£200 including fitting seems a very good price. Unlucky, but at least you know it's not going to go any time soon.
