Right thats it. Ive had enough of the pidling little mirrors on my S1. Am looking at changing them and believe this is a bit of a nause. So if im going to go for it i may as well do it properly. Has anyone out there got any top tips on changing them and what type to replace them with? If you have is there any chance of some photos of the end result?

They do look good, nice car too. Lot's of work has been done reading the ad. I'm looking for an S currently but only have a small budget and his car isn't expensive considering the amount of work listed in the ad. Looks like a true enthusiasts car.

Mileage is highish, but it is a very looked after car. The mirrors are a great feature, electric, heated and I believe they also fold up. I would definitely reccomend them.

Will Power, Thanks for the acclaim.

My mirrors are off a Nissan although I am not sure which. They were on the car when I purchased it but have been colour coded as they were a bit bland in black.

The best options I have seen would be Audi TT or new Mini. BMW Z3 would be an option price permitting.

I have been looking for alternative mirrors. The MX5 look ok, but the mount is not as sloping as an S door, so maybe not too easy? The only others that I have seen are on an unknown mark of Golf (as it went past on M-Way) and on a L reg Toyota Supra. Still looking...

Have a chat with these folk:
For years, doubters have claimed that Nasa, the US space agency, spent billions of dollars faking the landings to convince the world that it had beaten the Soviet Union to the Moon. Now astronomers hope to kill off the conspiracy theory once and for all by using the Very Large Telescope (VLT) - by far the most powerful telescope in the world - to spot the Apollo lunar landers. Operated by European astronomers in the Chilean Andes, the VLT consists of four mirrors 27ft across linked by optical fibres. It can see a single human hair at a distance of 10 miles.

......no good, would cost a fortune to have colour coded anyway!

Not having any luck finding the TT mirrors and have stumbled upon Deamon tweeks. They have a collection of different mirror type and fixings. Granted i havent had my old mirrors off but some of the ones they do look to me like theyd screw on similar to the ford fiesta type i have on. Anyone used or conscidered these?

Sorry but back to the plot...I have in an export S2 in the workshop which has (I think) Ford Granada MK1 electric door mirrors as standard......YES as standard. If anyone can find me one it would help as it got knocked off, along with the bonnet, radiator......Adrian

Since my last post ......The mirror on this S were sourced from a FX4 TAXI ! (on a taxi they are mounted on a bespoke to LTI plastic spacer but the mirror is a Ford item) you might want to check out the next old design taxi you and see if you want to upgrade. The car was supplied with these and air con. and a locking petrol cap.
