I think Im going to install a dixie horn in the S - should be a good laugh 
But the problem is, with 5 horns, location.
I was thinking about the space by the right bonet catch, up from the break/clutch fluid, in that area.
Im posting wondering a few things - anyone ever had a dixie horn, was it as much fun as you thought it would be, what actually happens if you get caught using one (they are illegal post 73 I think) and mainly... am I likely to be able to fit 5 horns in that area? I believe they should all be as close to the compressor as possible. -Rob

Nope. Im not one of those "preserve the original features" kind of people, will do anything for a laugh.
I can think of a few situations in which a blast will be good for a laugh
The horns are cheap, $62+ shipping from the states, obviously not going to be used every day, but its all in the name of fun, the reason I bought a TVR etc
5 horns, from 6-13 inches long. Even if some people think Im playing with mega cheese here, I'll need help with installation suggestions. I cant even find the location of the horn (nothing under horn/hooter) in the bible.
If it makes you feel better, Ive ruled out the rooftop installation solution

How loud will a 118db horn sound? I dont suppose all V8S's have a standard horn, with which to compare? Mine horn sounds quite loud, but have no clue what it probably equates to in db's.
And can I have some more yay or nay's re: the dixi idea please. I'll be proceeding as planned anyway but keen nevertheless to hear how many people dig the idea, VS cringe at the very notion.
Im not exactly spraying the car orange, putting 01 decals on the sides etc

Too much turkey for my tastes.

Good for terrifying the local pidgons foxes and seagulls out of the way, frightening children, amusing passengers, rebel toots for the bib heading in the opposite direction, scaring the bejesus out of pedestrian crossing walkers, sneaking up on unsuspecting shoppers in the multistory carparks (as best as one can sneak, V8 precat sports pipes) clearing the fast lane when Im trying to outrun the officer who suddenly turned around "een hat persooot of a green Vee8S headin southbound on the ol eassbourne road..."
It'll be like an invisible snow plow with an effective 360 degree radius.
Will I still be alowed to convoy with the other S owners?
I recon an independant switch is best incase I need to use both at the same time drivers side, away from over excited passenger hands(!) and out of view of the bib incase I ever do get pulled
Im still wondering though, would La Cucaracha be sufficiently loud if I installed it in the boot?

Can't you just hit the loud pedal to scare pedestrians, etc.
Which reminds me - had a v.amusing return to Lake District car park in the early summer after a walk. An elderly couple had parked, by luck/badluck,next to me and, having consumed the contents of their thermos were having a little sleep (aside - why do old people drive to car parks to go to to sleep?). As predicted to my girlfriend, when I started the V8S up, they almost left two head sized dents in the roof of their, wait for it, Rover.
Actually, come to think of it, a gentler, but possibly more amusing wake up call, could have come in the form of your (very 70's) dixie horns!

No way Mike. None of us here are the fuzzy dice, neon tyre craps, underglow laxer types.
I posted in general gassing a while back, got the same mixed salad (mainly positive) response.
A dixi horn cant be seen, will only be used when its going to make me or my passenger laugh.
Im not type to go honking and wailing through town at pub kickout time, not in a car anyway.
