Driving light angle

I'm in the process of replacing the driving lights on my S3 and completely forgot to check the dip angle before I removed the old ones - any suggestions on what angle they should be positioned at, or is it just straight ahead (on the basis that more light is better!) Justin

I'm guessing you mean the lower driving/spot/fog lights fitted to later cars?

I've got these, think they look good but don't (imho) do a lot?

I'd suggest parking on a nice flat carpark when it's dark and "tweaking" them to get best effect.


Out of curiosity do yours come on with dip and main, main only or something else

They come on with main beam only.

When I had the dashboard out for reveneering earlier this year I did look at the wiring to see if I could switch them over to dip as well, but the wiring colours in the diagram do not match what I have in the car, so decided to leave as is.

Hopefully the new headlights I've also put in will be an improvement on the originals......

Hi there , sorry to go slightly off thread but I have a cracked driving light lens , I have some replacements already , how do you remove the lights , is it necessary to remove the inner wing and access from inside ? Any help gratefully received !!

Yes, they're held in by a single M8 bolt (13mm spanner).

Driving lights should come on with main beam only (below from the Ring fitting instuctions)



I believe (I may be wrong) you could have the driving lights work with dip - but they'd have to have them "dip" as the normal headlamps do. So you'd need lights with a set-up for dip/main beam. Not sure if they are available to fit the 6" space on the S3 on bonnet?

About to change mine from fogs to spots/driving/additional main beam but TBH main beam isn't bad, it's dipped beam that's a bit crap and some extra light would be nice!
