Rear light disassembly?
Discussion
I've just bought a replacement rear light for my S3 off eBay and it's arrived damaged - a piece of the indicator end glass has snapped off. The reason I'm replacing the light is because the fitting on the back of my light has broken.
The light was pretty good value and rather than go through the hassle of sending it back/making a claim I'm wondering whether anyone has managed to successfully remove the lens from the back - in which case I could combine my lens with the back from the one I bought.

Just a thought but how much has broken off. the same thing happened to me - replacement rear light arrived damaged in the post see photo - I agreed a 50% discount from the seller and mended it with epoxy, reinforced with more epoxy on the back. You cant see the repair and a year on it is still ok.

although not done it myself, the way to dismantle is to warm up the joint area with a hair drier to pull both halves apart.
Not sure a hair dryer would proved sufficient heat in all places - I've done this with another car and used the oven on gas mark low - not for the feint-hearted though (or with the mrs watching!!!)Gassing Station | S Series | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
