Powder Coat Alloy Rocker Covers

I had them back in my hands for 10 seconds after a 2 week wait for bead blast and gloss black powder coat.....

and then i discovered they had powder coated the inside of them - ??????

Call me paranoid - but no, I do not want any paint inside my engine please.

REDO by Monday - Sigh! Paint on the outside ONLY!

Good call...the coating should not come off very easy, but I would not chance it either. I was looking at mine the other day and was thinking of changing them to visually make the motor appear a bit better...

When I had mine done the guy doing them asked me to screw them onto two pieces of plywood to keep gasket face and inside coating free, he had some bungs for oil filler hole etc.

Good call - I have a powder coated cover on a Pinto - the coating on the inside is flaking and obviously it's not going back on until I've removed the coating!

There's a chap on here called bionicjim that seems to have had an engine failure due to powdercoating coming off the inside of a plenum ( I think ). Not worth chancing IMHO
