I've just received an e-mail from "Regtransfers" about their offers, so out of curiosity I looked at the TVR numbers and they are advertising the TVR registration number that belongs on my car

Are they supposed to be advertising registrations that already belong to somebody and are on vehicles that are taxed and MOT'd and in use on our roads?

I'm going to post this in General Gassing too.

They did that to me too. If you drop them an e-mail they'll remove the registration for you.

It's nothing to worry about - if they get an offer for the registration they'll come to you to ask whether you want to sell.

How much for?

Never saw mine as available when I looked at similar ones to judge how much it could be worth, mind you you'd be mad to buy them as they all seemed extortionate!

Just had a look to see what they advertise my other private plate for and it's not there but they have another number which is very similar but not consecutive like mine which reads "2345" and they wanted £700 for theirs, I paid £50 for mine on e-bay and it must be worth more because of the consecutive numbers!

Kev, Its probably been there since you bought it, unless you ask them to remove it they will keep it there! It makes it look like they have more numbers for sale, you would be surprised if you knew how many of the registrations are actually up for sale!!! As above give them a call and ask them to remove it!

So you are not selling the car now then?

Regards

Mike

Hi Mike,

Yes, they do appear to have billions of numbers and I now understand that it is normal for them to advertise your number to "test the water", if they have interest they'll get in touch with the current owner of the number. I guess I don't mind too much but it was a bit of a surprise as I thought they only advertised numbers not currently assigned to any vehicle.

No, I'm not selling, never was really. I just needed a little more will power......
