My s1 has started to ripple on the bonnet, can they be flatted and painted/filled and painted?
Is this a common occurance with GRP ?
Not really AFAIK.
Larger GRP panels on the S such as the bonnet can appear a bit ripply.
Click on my profile and you'll see a view up my bonnet..... oooer!

i wish it looked that good, but it isnt !!!
what steering wheel was fitted to these, was it like the griff wheel?
The one fitted looks a little large and is a 4 spoke design.
PS you cant really see the ripples on my pic

It doesn't look at all bad but perhaps not a large enough pic. Mine looks a bit ripply but not much to worry about.
As for steering wheels, I think they are a Mountney style wheel with either 9 or 5 holes to mount to the boss, mine is like this:-

My bonnet is also very rippely. Always has been but I'm hoping to get it resprayed soon as it lets the rest of the car down. It's the area in front of the windscreen on both sides of the bulge.
The car has been resprayed at some point and I think however did it didn't do a very good preparation job on the bonnet.
If anyone can recommend a place to go that will do a proper job?
Colin

Hi Colin..
Tom Horsburgh...
I've used him a couple of times now...After the paint stripper incident last year.. He done a really good job..
Some residual stripper leeched from the gel coat and crazed the paint after about 3 months...
Tom took the car back and re-done the whole thing. Blocked back to the glass and resprayed..
RichardR had the back end of his S repaired by Tom also, after his shunt.. Again a top job..
He is working out of Harrisons in Farnham 01252 713311.

Do you mind telling how much it cost to get the bonnet done?
It was an insurance job... So I didn't have a breakdown of the costs...Sorry.
Tom done a good deal for RichardR.. AFAIR they wrote(is that a word?) his car off and he bought it back etc etc.. Then paid himself for Tom to do it..
He is a really pleasent chap and will probably give you a ballpark figure over the phone..
(mention my name...Just in case I need some future work...It all helps)

Google doesn't help I'm afraid:
"Other spectacular features at Ripley's™ Aquarium include Ray Bay, highlighting a variety of rays from multiple viewing levels and Friendship Flats, where guests touch Atlantic and Southern Cow-Nose Rays and Bonnet-Head sharks".
P.S.: what the F is a Southern Cow-Nose Ray ? or Steve ?
