S VS other TVR's (cd skipping)
Discussion
I just bought and installed a Pioneer DEH-P77MP:
Posted in general gassing about general TVR bumpy ride skipping problems, can anyone comment on the S VS other TVR's?
Im rather worried, the skipping was more than occasional, maybe its because of the bumpy gokart nature of the S?
I hope I dont need new AVO's to make my CD player run properly

Never had too much of a problem. CD skipping is also down to the player itself and how good it's shock mechanism is. Most are pretty good. I have a cheap JVC and it works ok. Sound poo but doesn't skip too much.
Had worse in my Mini and the changer was around £250. A change ion shocks won't make that much difference unless yours are really shot, in which case the car will be bouncy rather than hard. It's usually the hard hits that make the CD skip.
Also check the mounting for the player.

P.s What's the stereo like Rob?
Pioneer developed is without flashy lights and other pointless gadgets to be more of an audiophile unit, which it certainly seemed to be.
Mind you a 2 speaker TVR is hardly the best platform for audio entertainment (except of the exhaust noise
).Apparently, Max Power voted it the best cd player for £400 or under. Dunno if you read the general gassing thread Chris, but it was reduced to £250 (competition forced prices down or similar) and I got it for £200 as x display, so a good deal
More listening on the way back from hellforts, and Id say the speakers could be better, but they are plenty good enough (quite crisp and enough bass) for the time being, certainly good enough for me

The only problem I find with it is that at night it lights up so bright its about 100 times brighter than any of the instrumentation in the S.
It had about a billion settings, but because the display was so simple (which I prefer) the menu was all complex and hurt my brain!
