Yes my car is sorn as I'm in the process of replacing the petrol cradle tank as its seen better days and the rear brakes need doing also nige.

Actually I reckon that there are almost as many great driving days in " winter " as in a British summer, so once I finish getting the shockers changed I will be retaxing mine. When the rain eases off a bit I must go on test to get the setup right. This wet stuff with fallen leaves is extremely slippy. Clenched buttocks !

Yes. If you've not done it before, make sure you keep the evidence safe and secure.
DVLA sometimes make a mistake and later on send a stinky letter and fine...

I renewed Austin's tax disc for another 12 months & intend to get my money's worth.
As Mike S2 says, some.of the best driving days are in Autumn/ Winter, with those lovely crisp mornings, the sun shining on the golden trees, set against a clear blue sky, a sprinkling of snow on the distant hilltops, a light mist hanging in the valleys and those empty country back roads beckoning......

But as Mike says, watch out for those fallen leaves!
NB Before anyone mentions it, the roof was on at passenger's request.

A bit later in the season out on my own ( well, with Austin, obviously ).....

Great pic Glen, I can just see the garage in the distance where I keep my Chimaera. The road down into the Hope Valley from near Great Hucklow with Winn Hill and Loose Hill in the background.

Thanks Mike, no not this weekend, it's been mostly peeing down
It was taken a while ago. I just chose it to show why i don't SORN for the winter.

And yep Kev, pretty much spot on with the location.
I love those roads. And I love tractors too.

Push bike or Tiv all year round (both soooo much fun in the snow!) so only use SORN when away for extended trips with work. Would miss the Fish & Chip Swanage run in the New Year otherwise.

I use my S2 all year round, some of the best driving I have done is when the roads are dry, air temp crisp and the sun is shining.

The way I see it is like this, I have MOT'd her for the year, insured her for the year plus when you lay a car / motorbike up for months that's when you start to get problems!

How many times do you see posts on here that start "Just fired up my S after it's Winter hibernation and this is no longer working or it was working fine when I last used it!

Also if your regular commute car / motorbike fails to start one morning at least the S is ready to go.

With the amount of salt they put on the main routes during the winter, I am considering it this year.

Lovely driving on a sunny crisp morning however like my chassis to be staying in the same condition without the salt eating into it.

Laying up over a few months... simply start the car up to normal running temperature every 2 weeks also checking all electrics work.

Nice and sunny yesterday, so went topless, after a couple of hours found ourselves near Twycross Zoo, dropped in for a drink and watched the Snow Leopards and their cubs, from the restaurant. You dont pay to park or enter the restaurant, only if you wanna go around the zoo. Car park is mostly gravel potholey roads and boggy grass but plenty of space to choose reasonable places.
Not until we were leaving to drive back did the heavens open, RAIIN like I have not seen in this country, flooded roads even motorway was down to a crawl, we had to put the roof on it was soooooo bad, but we made it home without any drama.

Not had mine on display for about 3 years it's all done by number plate now and not had a problem either parked in City centre or driving. It's in the glovebox mind..

I'd say you've been very lucky, failure to display a valid tax disc is still an offence I believe (even if a reg. check will confirm car is taxed)?

"it's in the glovebox officer" doesn't usually count as on display
