Returned to my car Sunday lunchtime to find the petrol cap wide open, so worried that some scrote may have put something in the petrol tank. Drove it about 50 miles after that with no ill effects, but wondering whether I should get fuel system flushed - any views?
Oh, and anyone know if there's a replacement lockable petrol cap I could fit?

Get yourself a copy of the Steve Heath book, commonly called 'The Bible', and look at page 257, there a couple of mods you can do to the existing cap to lock it, one involve drilling a hole in the cap release and fitting a bolt, the other requires more work, but means fitting a rod in the boot
Suppose I could scan the page from the book..not sure if Mr Heath would be very pleased though!!
The first looks like the easiest to do..basically make a threaded hole through the catch and fit a hex grub screw, when tightened the catch would not be able to be pushed down. Not foolproof, but better than nothing
