As from last weekend I've become the proud owner of an S2, my first real sports car (being that my old car was a civic type R which obviously falls in to the toe-rag mobile genre!!) and I've been smiling continuously since. I am very happy with it, However I am seeking some advice and hope one of you all knowing might be able to assist?
1. The milometer has recently stopped working and the rev counter is temperamental, are these easily fixed and what would anyone recommend?
2. The seats, I feel, could do with a bit of work. Are they easily reupolstered? If anyone has had theirs done what sort of price did you pay?

Welcome. Suggest before doing anything else, you buy a copy of The Bible (Steve Heath TVR S Series Manual). The book will prove invaluable.
Pies website www.tvrsseries.com is a cracking source of information on the S.
Speedo / Tacho problems - I would suspect the problems are electrical connections. Have a fiddle about under the dash and check for anything loose (not unusual on the S).
Seats - Mike (V8Smith) had his interior re-done a while ago and it looks luvverly

By the way, I'm situated in South Wales (between Swansea & Cardiff) is anyone else around here, or knows of anyone who is? Don't want to be a loner!!

Contact Steve Parker via the members section here , he is the RO for the S Wales TVRCC , He has also produced a parts list for the S. He currently runs a Chim but used to own an S ( which I own now )I know that there are a no of S's in your area.

I'm not really over your way that often and only usually passing through and not in the S for reasons of comfort as usually on my way to Hampshire, only once a year usually that I go there too!
I should make the effort and take the S down with me next time but I'd have to sort the exhaust etc with all those cattle grids in the forest!

Welcome to the S Club, you wont regret it, I had an S2 and loved it! As for the seats it depends what is wrong with them, can you send me close up photos?? If they are all seriously cracked and going hard, you are going to need the leather replacing? If they are just tired looking with a few cracks then you might be able to get them re-connolised! For re-conollising can be done by most trimmers and a mobile trimmer called Trimline are good. As for the leather retrim, best thing is to find a local small trimmer and take the seats along I did this with the S2, he replaced the seat bases and reconolised them for £140 so not too bad, always ask a few though as you will get different prices for sure.
