New Years Day Cold Drive Out To Shelsley Walsh

Hi Guys n Gals, those hardy ones amongst you with your TVR Taxed for the winter, .....
How about a brunch meeting at Shelsley Walsh, The Worlds Oldest Motorsport Venue ..... In The World !!
January 1st 10.30am until 2pm. Register on line so catering and parking can be planned, then park in the paddock, eat hearty fry-up, then work it off by jogging up the hill climb track. Check out all the expected classic vehicles, and talk to other like minded enthusiasts. Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin, MG, etc etc, from all era's.
This is the first of the monthly breakfast club meetings ( usually 9am - 12 noon ) that start in February and run through to October.
I have entered the January Brunch, details with a link on the Events Wiki, ( thanks Andy )
As soon as I get details of the monthly meetings I will add them to the wiki.

.No charge to arrive and park, scrummy breakfast is £6.50 or was all previous times, for any 8 items from the menu ( toast fried bread eggs tomato bacon sausage black pudding mushrooms plus a hot drink, in a warm restaurant on site. Other options are available though.

If I was in sales for fry-up breakfasts I would by now be unable to squeeze into the S...

I am sure anyone who has been would agree though, its a great place that attracts interesting people and a diverse collection of cars.
The views from the hill......... on a clear day of the surrounding rolling countryside.... Need I go on ??

Only if you want it to be! Plenty of cracking A and B roads (especially on a quiet New Years Day).Went to a place near Huntingdon last Sunday, in the S, obvious route is M42 M6 A14 but I cut and wiggled across eventually taking the B645 out of Higham Ferrers to St. Neots..... what a brilliant road, exactly what the S was built for

Barry & I have both been to Shelsley twice for breakfast, also twice to Wellesbourne ( love their chunky bacon! ), so we know the format. But it does mean getting out of bed about 05:30 and it'll be fairly dark on Jan 1st at that time of day. A lot different on a late Spring morning, far more pleasurable.
It's all about getting the balance right you understand.
Mind you that breakfast is tempting

I'm in a great believer in navigation by ruler - straight line on map between start and end point and find most interesting roads in between. Diversions for interesting looking roads near the route also allowed.

)Everyone knows that an S1's headlights are just for show, not for night driving
That's why TVR added auxiliary driving lights on the later night fighter S version, that actually illuminated the road ( or hedge ) ahead.Anyway, at 5:30 am, I may be too busy testing a new duvet
