I bought the car from a fellow PH'er and days after paying a deposit the SEAC (in my profile) was advertised which I had missed out on when sold previously.
Consequently, when I picked up the car I told Mark (very nice previous owner) that once I had got it through an MOT I would need to sell straight away - my Griff is due back soon (new 5.4 litre V8D engine) and my double garage (and marriage) can only fit 2 TVR's ....
Just been out for another blast in the 'S' this morning and its engine is truly astonishing.... someone is going to have alot of fun with this car...

How would you compare the v6 Cosworth next to something like a factory 5l v8Consequently, when I picked up the car I told Mark (very nice previous owner) that once I had got it through an MOT I would need to sell straight away - my Griff is due back soon (new 5.4 litre V8D engine) and my double garage (and marriage) can only fit 2 TVR's ....

I took a mate out this morning who has a Griff 500 and he said it felt quicker but I think that was because he's not a good passenger LOL... on paper it should be a bit slower but up to legal limits but it feels as quick if not quicker than a 500 and as DIB350 says it pulls in a much more linear fashion than an RV8 right through the rev. range (I haven't taken it over 6.5k as not sure where the red line is....).Totally agree Paul, the power delivery is linear right through the rev range and the car is really flexible. Mine has a T5 gearbox and overtaking in 5th is a doddle. The documentation I got with mine says it has Piper cams but I don't think there were ever after market cams made for that engine. I reckon it is more like to be BOB camshafts. What does yours run?
It`s a standard BOA but running an Emerald ECU which is well set up, and a big help is some lovely bespoke headers, which is why the torque is so good. I had toy`d with the idea of fitting a more free flowing plenum from Boost Performance and may be going mad and fitting throttle bodies....it would add more power, look great and sound great....but maybe at too much cost? Fitting BOB cams is a straightforward mod and worth I believe 5-10 hp.
Yes the Lotus is a dream, the only downside being it is not a convertible.....
The headers were all equal length...I did some research on the internet and given the space restrictions determined that 28" was the best we could do...or thereabouts....seems to work ok. Cost about £1000 by a very skilled tube bender in a shed in Norfolk....he had all sorts of fantastic projects on the go, but this was 5 years or so ago.
