A quick hello to all as this is my first time on this site.
I`ve owned my first S for 2 months and I can`t bring myself to put it into hibernation until the spring, the voices in my head won`t let me do any DIY on the weekends anymore, the car keeps calling me out to play.
So being on the Isle of Wight I need to get away, so are there any runs, meets, events worth going to, they would have to be of a weekend, preferably a dry one..........some chance,is there any one out there like me who can`t hibernate their favourite toy?
If I can`t lock my wife away then why lock up my TVR?

Hi Clive

Welcome to Pistonheads, great to have you along. There was talk a little while back about having a winter meet in the Kent and Sussex area, but not seen anything lately.

You are doing the right thing by continuing to use the Tiv through the winter, they definately like to be used on a regular basis. I tell the wife it helps to avoid any nasty bills brought on by in-frequent use. The car that is

Keep the car running There are 2 others on the IoW I think, one of which possibly doesnt know about you if this if your first post, and he wants to meet you (so he said in the passion forum of late). So maybe 4 in total which is enough for a hoon!

We only have a few people in the "eastbourne gang" which we are bringing to life, go for it and listen to oldred - the S's do benefit (I understand) from not being shut away for periods of time.

Did you buy the car on the mainland, perchance? And are you having too much fun yet? (ps, watch out for Podie )

Welcome!

Welcome to the S fold you wont regret it and you are right not to hide the S away they do like being used. I dont use mine everyday, but everyday thats dry and it seems to work good for me as I have had no real problems apart from the usual end of life items like coil, alternator and leads.

Lets talk about this at the Mid Essex meet on Sunday guys I think Paul, Pies, Bob, Podie etc will all be there lets see if we can come up with a date! There might be another meet we could join etc....!

Later

Mike

Thanks for the welcome guys.
I bought the car from a chap in Liverpool, found advertising on the TVRCC classifieds, the problem being that when I went to look it over I was calm, sensible, and looking at all the areas where problems can be found, (did a lot of research on s series site, pistonheads and tvrcc), but as soon as he fired her up I knew a deal would be done, so far though no problems, apart from the fan belt going one night along the M4, and being recovered by AA, and taken to my brother in-laws house in south wales, where I was going for the weekend to show off my new toy, who had a good giggle at my expense.
If any other Island members out there, get in touch.
