Hi there,
They call me BabyDriver......
I'm new to the Forum but not new to TVR's having had a 1600M back in 1977 and a Taimar in 1979. I loved the Taimar using it every day totting up some 48,000 miles in a couple of years with no problems other than trying to sell it two years later as a high mileage vehicle. No thoughts of rusty outriggers back then. TVR's with their glass fibre bodies were considered indestructible compared to the competition.
Still enough said I am on the look out for a V8S in good condition if anyone can help?

Are you not interested in a V8 rumble Chimaera? Only saying as I am a previous V8s owner and have no bad comments about the V8s as it was totally reliable used pretty much as a daily driver 10k-12k a year.
However I am now a Chimaera owner and think this drives better,sounds better,looks better.
Have you driven a V8s or a Chimaera to compare? I think we all know every TVR seems to drive different to the next as they all have their own character. But now having the Chimaera my personal choice is that I would not got back to V8s ownership.
But that last statement is what it's all about (Personal choice). For sure the V8s is less common and no doubt becoming a classic but in five months and 3500 miles in the Chimaera I have only seen two in normal driving situations. Saw about 30 at thunder in the tunnels event and about 100 at Back home event but that don't count
Hi Jason, thank you for your thoughts but I'm afraid I still hanker after a V8S. I like the retro styling which is reminiscent of the Taimar I had back in 1979. I'm sure that the Chimaera is a better car for all sorts of reasons but I'm not after modern car. I'm afraid I'm going back in time last year I bought a 1969 Lotus Elan S4 and enjoyed every driving minute. I then thought why not a TVR as well. I'm sure your advice is sound but after all when buying of a car it's a heart over head decision. Thanks again Anthony

Not from me you won't.You can change the sound on all of them from loud to bizarre
Thought I was being a bit brave posting that on the S forum but I have been an S2 and V8s owner so just passing on MY thoughts

Hi Anthony,Mines 16 1/2 years old so hardly modern I just think TVR were quite advanced and ahead of times as the Chimaera still looks a pretty modern looking sports car today.
But I agree the S stands out as having a more classic look,I only posted recently on Gratwin309 recent purchase of an S2 that how nice it looked.
Go with your heart Anthony and it would be a pleasure to join you for a drive when you find the right one as I'm just up the road from Warwick. I often drive that way through Henley/Claverdon/Warwick/Stratford/Alcester/Studley and back up to Portway driving some beautiful roads and scenery.

The engine is original and very strong with ACT upgrades and detailing. The wheels have been refurbed and the brakes have had a complete strip down and upgrade, comes with its unique plate, 12 months MOT and Tax and comes with full TVR History. Do not miss this future classic if not now This car must be viewed to be appreciated."
