Oh dear. You are going to be SO embarrassed when you sober up.

But back to the question - Stratford Festival of Motoring (May bank holiday) was great last year, and well worth repeating. Great runs out and fine variety of cars and people. I'm planning on camping at the Cottage of Content again.

May - Spa Classic (possibly)
June - TVRiders 3 Nations Gathering in Germany
July - Le Mans Classic and this
TBC - S Club Euro Tour
TBC - S Club Heaven

...plus hopefully a couple of other local(ish) events smile

Maybe Norway this year for me, thinkin little more "local"
That if I ever can start with maintenance of my s3, the SAAB taking some time, just a "few" parts that was in the way to get the headgasket and cylinder head out...

The Great Burghley Gathering 12 /13 April

2nd Stratford F.O.M 3 /4 May ( camping @ Cottage of Content ) OR
DUXFORD? Now I'm confused ( not difficult ). Decisions decisions.

Newark Kit Car Show 20-22 June. NB: Dates still TBC by organisers.
I shall post on this forum as soon as I hear from them.

Barn Farm camping, Birchover 27 -29 June

S- Club Eurotour - dates TBA soon?

Various local-ish Dunlop TVR Challenge Race Meetings. ( only watching )

Various breakfast meets & gratuitous hooning*.

  • Does anyone know the derivation of this strange word?

Stratford Saturday, Duxford Sunday and non of that camping malarkey smile

As for "hooning" maybe option 1 is more TVR related, but there again perhaps you did mean option 2? Hooning

Hi Guys, Just back from my hols,
Noticed this entry and thought best to update the 2014 wiki, and mention the Festival of Motoring in Stratford is Sunday 4th and Bank Holiday Monday 5th May.
Website advises booking will be available from after Xmas, and it will be similar format to last year, but more vehicles involved.
Book early with your TVR this time I remember the organisers were overcome with how many TVRs were attempting to join in and closed the doors!!
Book Early Campers as Mr Pontins ( Or Mr Butlins ) once said.. .. .. ..

...oh yes, forgot Duxford.... An excellent place to visit.

Plus Burliegh ( the Chatsorth replacement) .... Admittedly not as far, but 2 hour drive each way freezing my b&@"€€ks off is slightly less fun then last years 3 hours, but maybe I will see others from a bit further away than the last 2 miles from the event. ...

Plus..... Things. wink

Ps, not drunk in the US this, time...... Only marginally happy back in The UK.

Trying to sort an S Club Airfield day in the south. More to follow later when I have feasibility sorted, but expressions of interest would help. Would be around Wiltshire area and would need to be restricted to pre-booking

ETA: it would be weekend and I would look at lowish cost if it is to occur. Still a pipe dream at moment but so was Cosford when I started on it for s club 2010 and airfield I am aiming at has been used for this type of event before

I have to say, now the S is nearer to being a tidy example now , I am keen to get out and about more next year so Ace Cafe is very interesting and has been a loose plan that I have toyed with for many years even before I owned anything worth taking. Any days out with some good roads en-route , possibly try to get to Brighton's Madiera Drive for the Speed Trials, either just watch or take part. http://www.brightonandhovemotorclub.co.uk/speedtri... I went along many years ago, and with the "Double Level" promenade there is brilliant spectator vantage points.
Just found a thread on PH, to sign up to Save The Brighton Speed Trials, apparently the local council want to stop this amazing event, feel free to check out the thread and sign the petition if you agree that it should be kept going.
