TVR S2 bottom hose
Discussion
Hi Rob & welcome to S ownership & this friendly forum.
If you mean a length of convoluted silicon hose, I personally would not fit that due to impeded coolant circulation & tendency to trap dirt etc.
I would opt for two suitable ( reinforced ) silicon elbows cut to the correct length and a stainless steel joiner to replace the existing steel tube. I also recommend decent stainless hose clips
These items can be obtained from any of the following:
www.actproducts.co.uk
www.siliconhoses.com
www.burtonpower.com
AP Motorstore
SAMCO

Thank you, Glen, for your welcome and information. I was a bit uneasy about idea and only need some negative feedback -idea now abandoned.
I have also obtained some Audi TT mirrors to replace the original CX type electric mirrors and have posted a query in the hope that someone will have done this conversion. Also have to tackle a rear wheel bearing.
I have had my S since April when I was presented with it by my son and his wife for a 70th birthday gift. Lucky!!
Thanks again
Rob

Hi Rob,
Happy to help, we need more youngsters like yourself
The CX mirrors are the better ones that were fitted to the S, and are quite expensive to buy second hand as they were also fitted to such exotica as the Jag XJ220.
Most common swap is to replace the earlier "bunny ear" type which don't offer very much in the way of rear vision.
If you are keen on fitting the TT mirrors, somebody on here has done it.
If you click on "search" at the top right margin of the page, and type in "TVR S Series TT mirrors" in the Google search box, you should get a few topics to refer to.
Same applies to the rear wheel bearing ( are you sure it's not a driveshaft problem? )
Also the "Useful Links" topic at the top of the forum does exactly what it says on the tin. The alternative parts list is very handy indeed.
Cheers,
Glen

Hi again Rob,
If you're not too busy at lunchtime this Sunday, why not pop along to the TVRCC Mid-Essex meet for lunch & a pint? They are a very friendly bunch & will make you most welcome with or without your TVR.
You don't even have to be a member.
The venue is : The Forresters Golf Club, Beckingham Rd, Gt. Totham, and is organised by the lovely Jo Stockwell, email: rojo@talktalk.net
Sorry I don't have a postcode
Although I'm an Essex boy myself, I shan't be there, as I am banished to the frozen wastes of the North, but hopefully my bro-in-law BarryS1 will be there provided he has managed to re-assemble his dark blue S1 machine by then, so you'll have someone's brains to pick
Good luck with your S, it's the best present any bloke could wish for, your son & daughter-in-law must love you a lot.
Hope to see you around, keep an eye on the forum & the Events Wiki at the top of the page for meets & runs out etc.
It's the people on here that make S ownership such a rewarding experience.
Cheers,
Glen

Hi Glen,
Looking at the websites of the links you sent I saw another link to a company which claims to supply siliconehoses.com. They are called ASH (Auto Silicone Hoses). I also found a 15% discount code on another site (code ASHHOSES)which still worked last week. Hoses arrived very promptly.
Thanks for all your leads on this.
Regards
Rob
