Nice to see people using their P&J all year round, I think there's more spotted threads now than there was during the summer!

Unfortunately, mine's tucked inside the garage awaiting the new water pump and fuel sender and didn't get a look in this weekend as I was giving the daily ride a bit of pre-MOT TLC

PS
My sincere thanks to Pies (Colin) and others for advice on the rear calipers. I got them sorted eventually with the correct tool to rewind those pistons!

Just kiddin mate

Kentish, I noticed you posted re: escort rear upgrade lights after a search just now...

Austec will be upgrading my front bulbs, to xenons which they say draw 110 watts, and are said to be 75% brighter, and dont require extra current or rewiring.

What exactly was the scenario within which someone said here said new wiring would be needed to cope with the extra current for the bulbs??

Tubbystu, Im not going for the new lenses/reflectors, just the bulbs... did the new bubls make a big difference on your S?

What does the "average" car come with these days, compared to the standard 55 watt s bulbs?

Hi Rob,

110w is the standard rating of bulbs (55w each) so the wiring will be fine. It's the type of bulb they are fitting for you that will give you the increased output this is usually because they are filled with a gas such as xenon which will make the filament burn brighter like halogen.

To be honest the TVR wiring is what makes the standard lights poor, if you check under load you'll probably find about 10.5 to 11 volts (if you're lucky) and the best thing you can do is fit the modwise wiring kit or a couple of relays to give a good 12v at each bulb, this makes a huge difference.

I'll be doing the same and fitting some Ring SportzBlue Xenon 80/100w bulbs for an HID look and level of light emmision. They're excellent bulbs, I have them in the VW.
