Apart from a short period with James May, I believe my little S is more of go than show car.

I have however sucumb to the need for Bling.

I have used the basic bracket design from Stu to create a new alternator bracket which suits a 12.7 x 1200mm belt.

Had some very second hand alloy Rocker Covers shot blast and black powder coated (twice as the first time the idiot did the insides as well!.

I have left the Ford logo as the engine is in fact from Ford and I am happy with that.

haven't polished through the powered coat to reveal the highlights (3 ribs and Ford logo) but instead I have hand painted the highlights to improve the look but retain the integrity of the powered coat in interest of sustainability of the finish in the longer term.

I have done my tappets, cleaned the mating faces, moved my coil and just await some nice new stainless flange bolts to fit it all back tomorrow.

so far!

Guy who did mine asked me to screw then to some some pieces of scrap board, he had bungs for the various holes.
(drill the extra screw hole before powder coating wink )

Always amazes me how much tappets go out in 6,000 miles.

I did. I found it useful in a new Norfolk sport; Tossing the Welder! I am please to say I can hit a wheely bin at almost 15 feet, though I only get it in at 12 feet.

New welder required……..MIG OR TIG?

I think our postman should get an honorary TVR. My stuff is taking far too long to arrive and being in the flatlands means anything but agricultural parts are damn hard to find in stock.

Stainless flange hex head sir. When do they need a plantin?

I have done my bit though. My new alternator bracket can use a 12.5 x 1200 belt. Its a common massey ferguson size :-)

I believe it could be the "BBC Norfolk" dialect in which case it probably is just complimenting you on your excellent taste in cars? Either way google translate likley to respond with "Say WHAT????"

The dialect varies from village to village, enclave to enclave, even from family to family. Everybody with six toes on each foot understands this ffs, don't they Andy ?
( I may have got confused here between Narfuk & Glossop ? )

I would like to point out that I spent most of my childhood holidays in Narfuk, and it had absolutely no affeffaffeffaffeffafffect on me whatsoever.
Happyppyppyppy days indeed. Phwaaayhhheeehaayaaah!.

Max. My village has a sign 'Deopham, Drive you steady'

Rockers on and all back together - Glenrobbo method used + a bit of the rest

1. clean all faces with razor blade, rag soaked in thinners etc
2. remove the 'lump' of gasket at the valley inlet manifold junction
3. more rag and thinners!
4. a smear of rtv at the junctions of inlet manifold and heads
5. stick gaskets to rocker cover (ford ones with metal spacers in them)
6. hand tighten all bolts (lush stainless flange bolts)
7. working as if tightening a head down from the centre in a 3 stage spiral 'quarter turn', 'quarter turn', 'tight'

job done.

rewired my relocated coil (no longer on the plenum)

That looks great! I really need to spend some time cleaning up my engine bay at some point this year. Really like the relocated ignition coil too - is there any chance you could post a closer view of the bracket you've fashioned for it? That's something I'd definitely be keen to imitate because the heat around the plenum can't be that good for an already warm coil.

Were the rocker covers an ebay purchase btw?

Coil bracket was an ebay item - 9.95 including a daft coil cover, which i ditched

The rocker covers were ebay items but in rough order. They have been shot blast and powder coated.

they used to look like this :-(
