Has anyone ever opened up an original TVR 'S' exhaust system to see what's inside? I'm assuming the shallow bit is just an expansion chamber and the bigger back bit is an absorption-type straight-through silencer. Is it dualled right through?

Manifolds, down pipes, centre stuffed dual box, rear pipes -all straight through as 2 pipes

Do the two pipes which go into the front of the silencer continue through the first oval box or do they terminate on the front face? My two tubes have cracked where they meet the box and I am deciding whether to weld two on new pipes to the front face or take the front off the box and make a more substantial repair.

A new exhaust is out of the question at the moment so I need to carry out a fix that will get me to Germany and back and other places this year.

Advice welcome.

Cheers
