I was out yesterday, did about 350 miles to/from/around Snetterton.
Mine's the rear end, middle of the top row. Taken to show the grass collected on a brief excursion onto the grass at about 80 mph on a damp track after a Triple Salchow (in honour of the winter olympics)

) gave you good marks:

( The 9-4 was the Russian vote, they always score low, nothing to worry about. )
One thing puzzles me about those pics....
Why is the sky in Norfolk the same colour as Austin?
It looks lovely, is it normally like that? Is that what summer looks like?

It was a lovely day.......except when the heavens opened mid-morning, soaking a track that had been beginning to dry out. Then the sky was rather grey. I was out on track on road tyres in the downpour, hard to see where I was going but there was a surprising amount of grip. The spin happened half an hour after the downpour.
The dry track pics are after 2.30 pm. I am the second navy chimaera in close convoy on the track. The front one is Phazed.
If you don't already, do bring your Esses on track this summer - then you will understand what I think the S is really about. A road car that really performs on track. They were truly ahead of their time in terms of power and handling in a relatively inexpensive Brutish sports car (pun was a typo but I left it!)
We in the Chimaera clan all have a soft spot for the S (and the wedge) and will welcome you with open arms. A group of TVRs at a track day is loved by everyone, and is a lot of fun.

As far as I know, track days allow spectators in for free (a fair few Norwich based TVR owners came to look and blag rides on Saturday) and charge an admin fee if you want to register with them and take passenger rides. MSV charge a tenner. In return you get a wrist band that gets you on track. After that it's about being bold, wandering into the pis, chatting to people about ther cars and simply blagging a ride. Most people are more than happy to help. I gave a few passenger rides on Saturday. I even blagged a friend a ride in a Radical last year...... ) & see what happens. Although I do slightly resent your mocking of my incontinence.
Well I went out early Sunday morning, with all the flooding I found on the back lanes,I decided to stick to main roads, so headed home via Worcester............ what a mistaka to maka.... all roads flooded or gridlocked in town, over an hour hardly moving.
But once the traffic cleared had a great drive back home, with a stop off at Wellesbourne Airfield Cafe, where a chap was out with his wife in a 100 year old Morris ( I think ), roof on but no side screens, he must have been almost as old as his car as well.

You probably know all this, but:
If the briefing is at 8.30, then you only need to be there as many minutes before as you need to park and get to the briefing. You can usually get noise tested after the briefing if needed. Thanks to a delay with a friend, I arrived at Snetterton at 8.25 last Saturday. Got signed in after the briefing, emptied the four wheels and tyres and my tools out of the car, did the sighting laps in the first group ,then got noise tested and clipped my harnesses in, and was still out on track within 5 minutes of the pit lane opening.
I used to get there as the gates opened.......and by the time track time started two to two and a half later I was thoroughly frustrated and fed up.

It's about 50 minutes for me, so I'll have to miss a little bit of beauty sleep
I've got my lad's old bike helmet, should be ok? Or does it have to be within a certain age limit. ( It's a lot younger than me! )
I better see if I can get in my S with it on.
I'm prepared for a lot of hanging around, I know how these things can go, but I'm looking forward to it.
