Front brake hose replacement

Has anyone replaced the front brake hoses with a single length braided hose, doing away with the small solid link pipe on the hub? I'm sure there was a reason they were designed like this but it looks to me that one length of braided hose could be used...

Yes I did. My car had normal rubber ones when I bought it. Replaced them with braided ones4 years ago, still fine !

Terry - did you see my reply on the random pics thread about the front callipers? put a fleabay link on to possible candidate, but can't find any paperwork about mine.

Hi Max. Are they different callipers? I'm interested in upgrading the discs to grooved/drilled as mine are knackered but not sure I need to change the callipers as well... Thanks for the help.

Never had anything else but the hoses, no brackets, no pipes. I ordered M10 hoses in 55 cm length.

I put on bigger grooved discs and new callipers - wouldn't do drilled as i understand they have a tendency to crack due to the stress

Ah, got ya.. They looked similar to standard that's why I couldn't work out why you pointed to the new callipers.. What dia are your new discs?
