Power boost valves

Looking through my car's service history, my car had a power boost valve fitted in 2002. I'm wondering whether these actually do what's claimed. Does anyone else have one fitted ? It's a bit like this:

Leave it alone, it you're taking it to TVR Power they will know how to set it up correctly. Are you using Mark Adams?

Sorry Richard - what is - the Mark Adams fettling or the Power Boost Valve (or both !) ?

As I understand it, the 14CUX ECU should already do what the FSE is supposed to do. So if your ECU is working properly, the FSE will just dump more un-needed fuel in. If you've got a Mark Adams (Top Bloke!) map already, even less need for a FSE, I would think.

Boost valves. I don't have any experience with Mark Adam's fettling.

OK - thanks guys. Reviewing the service history in detail last night it seems the power boost valve was fitted in 2002 after complaints of rough running. The complaints continued thereafter so I am guessing they were hoping it would fix the problem, yet it never did. The fault still seems to exist.

I'll ask Dom at TVR Power to consider removing it as part of the fault finding.

I wouldn't waste your money having someone remove it unless you know it's overfueling.
