Chris

As resident spraymeister I have a question:

Ran over a stone (F##kin boulder more like) last night and damaged the underside of the front 'scoop'. Now as this is only a small area I'm going to have a go at filling and spraying myself BUT what do I use? I can get hold of a proper compressor and gun but is this a little OTT for a small repair (colour is unavailable in cans) or can I buy an airbrush that will attach to the compressor and do the job...

Cheers

Simon

Yep, sorry, don't have email at home and I was off from Friday lunch time onwards. If it's a small chip and not seen very much, you could probably get away with some Isopon filler, and I think Halfords do a repair kit. If not a can + some lacquer would do. Tooling up for a spray job is pretty expensive and you'll have to buy paint, lacquer, activator, primer etc. to do a full job.

As long as you clean the area well and get the filling up to scratch it should be ok. When you fill you over fill the area and then sand back. You'll need some paper and a block.

How big is the chip/graze?

Ouch! Bit more than a chip.... If the spraying thing is out of question does anyone know of a company
that will make up spraycans to your colour?

Most paint suppiers should be able to supply your specially mixed paint in Aerosols.
In West London i used to use Car Paint & Panels in W7, sorry don't have the phone number.
