Shocks and Springs
Discussion
Originals were, I believe, BilsteinsKoni's ... no longer available?
Quite possibly not made uniquely for the TVR S series but not commonly known to derive from any mass produced car.
There may be a company out there somewhere who could refurbish yours?
Original springs were rising rate (coils closer at one end than the other)? Again, hard to find but coil springs don't "wear out", yours could be blasted and re-coated to look new again?
Plenty of modern alternatives available, are you heart set on keeping it all original?
Koni website nothing under TVR

Originals on mine were Konis ……….
Front – 80 2617
Rear – 80 2618
They have adjustable rebound damping.
Have you thought about having the old ones refurbished? Might be cheaper than new OE ones, if you can find them. The rubber bushes are, apparently, no longer available from Koni but you could of course replace them with silicone ones. Bet they don’t last 90,000 miles though
I’ve just had my rear dampers rebuilt by Shaun Pickering at SP Suspension (07811 108123). I’ve had the original springs powder coated, see this thread, http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... and they have come up very nicely. Once I’ve put them all back together I’ll post up a picture.
Based on what I paid you should be able to get four refurbished for around £220.00 inc VAT plus another 50 quid or so for the springs keeps the whole lot around £300.00 or so (not including carriage costs).
