None are exactly the same but I think 6009690 would look OK. That profile is D, 50mm high, 38 mm deep.

The S bumper section is 55 mm high and 35mm deep, but is slightly 'beyond' a D shape and is only 45mm high on the flat surface where it actually meets the body. A rear section on the S is c840mm long.

Did anyone follow up these leads, particularly the Polymax one. If not I will contact them for a sample.
I also believe it may be possible to get g.r.p. mouldings done, at an economical price, which would fit exactly. No absolute reason they should be rubber is there? G.r.p. ones can be repaired if they take a small knock. Fill them full of builders foam for some absorption? What do people think?

Bump! A search on Google came up with some proper results!

The PH search is absolute RUBBISH since they "improved" it.

Just to link this thread with Damians tale of woe,
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Just thought I would add a further note. I have found out today that the bumper section was made to TVR's order and specification. Damn, so the chances of finding anybody making an identical section are vanishingly small. Nevertheless the search will continue for a 'best fit' alternative.

Maybe Tvr parts will step up to the rescue! Mind you, despite buying the david gerald stock, they still seem to totally ignore anything before the griff on theiir website.

Regarding "D" sections, could any of these suit?

Thanks for that link Andy. Certainly some interesting stuff there and, although I didnt immediately see anything quite the right dimensions, that is not an exhaustive list as they refer to other dimensions being available. I will take on contacting them and getting a sample of the nearest choice. Promising!

Regrettably Mike they are no longer trading, I did wonder if they might have sold on their assets but it isnt looking at all likely. Source was an ex TVR employee directly involved.

Just to update this.

Seals+ Direct do a D shaped moulding in the appropriate material 47mm base, stands 28mm high and is 6mm wall. Price is 12.42 per metre. This is basically similar but a touch smaller than the section Phillpot found a source for. Neither would be as good as the original, either in looks or the arrangements for securing to the car.

The company has also provided what appears a very resonable quote for manufacturing to the original specification. The issue of course is initial tooling costs and minimum order of 100m (each car needs about 4m). This would only be realistic with the involvement of TVR Parts Ltd and they have now agreed to look at the possibilities for doing so, which is encouraging.

Good work Richard. Will there any opportunity to influence the type of rubber used? Some thing fairly dense which can be buffed up to a shine would be good.

Hi Joe, one of the things discussed with Seals+ was to use a dense rubber as per the original, they were find with that.
Did you see my request re info on V8 clutch master? That is also relevant to progress with TVR Parts Ltd
